Pair Of Home Invasion Robberies – May 19, 2010

On Wednesday, May 19 at about 9:46 a.m., officers from the Arcata Police Department responded to the 2000 block of Maria Court for the report of a home invasion robbery.

Upon the officers arrival they contacted the victims, who advised them two men had just entered their residence and robbed them at gunpoint. The two men were dressed as maintenance workers and told the victims they worked for a utility company and needed to enter their home to conduct repairs. When the resident allowed them inside, one of the suspects produced a handgun and ordered the victims onto the floor. A struggle ensued and the female victim was able to escape and call police. During the struggle, the male victim was also able to escape. The suspects then fled the residence in a vehicle.

Suspect one was described as a white male adult in his late twenties or early thirties, about five feet ten inches tall and 170 pounds.

Suspect two was described as a white male adult in his late twenties or early thirties; about five feet seven inches tall with a heavy build.

The suspect vehicle was described as new charcoal grey full size truck, possibly a Ford.

The male victim sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Mad River Community Hospital.

A few hours later at about 12:16 p.m., officers from the Arcata Police Department responded to a residence in the 1500 block of 11th Street for the report of a robbery.

Upon the officers arrival they contacted three victims that reported to have been bound and robbed. The victims stated three aquaintances had come to the residence to visit one of the occupants. Shortly after their arrival, the three suspects assaulted, and then bound the three victims. The suspects ransacked the home, before fleeing.

Suspect one was described as a black male adult in his twenties, approximately six feet tall with a medium build. Suspect two was described as a black male adult in his twenties, average height with a medium build and corn rowed hair. Suspect three was a black male adult in his twenties, about five foot ten inches tall, medium build with dreadlocked hair.

The suspects fled in a vehicle described as a newer blue Honda Fit.

One victim sustained moderate injuries in the assault and was treated and released at Mad River Community Hospital.
