ARCATA HIGH – Facing drastic funding shortfalls, the Northern Humboldt Union High School District is considering a $25 million bond issue.

The matter will be discussed at the Tuesday, June 29 meeting of the NHUHSD Governing Board, to be held at the Arcata High School Multipurpose Room beginning at 6 p.m.

If approved by voters in November, bonds would be sold over a seven-year period, in 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2017. It could fund a number of improvements for both Arcata and McKinleyville high schools, including improved classrooms and libraries. The bond funds may not be used for teachers’ salaries or ther operating expenses.
