HUMBOLDT – In their last bout of the 2010 season, the Humboldt Roller Derby All-Stars enjoyed an impressive victory Saturday night against the San Diego Derby Dolls’ Hard Corps.

Throughout the first quarter of the bout, Humboldt’s score rose all the way to 75 against San Diego’s zero.

The Dolls gained during the rest of the game, but were still unable to beat the All-Stars, with a final score of 180 to 101.

The first bout of the evening featured two of Humboldt’s home teams battling it out against one another – the Widow Makers and North Jetty Bettys.

Some of these players also play for the All-Stars or Redwood Rollers teams, but took on new team names and colors for the occasion.

Some of the players they were used to playing alongside became their new enemies.

The Bettys ended up in the lead by the end of the bout, but the Widow Makers showed some amazing endurance considering their roster was down to only eight skaters (to the Bettys’ 11).

All the skaters gave it their all on Saturday night, and were sad to see the 2010 season go. Watch for a whole new bout schedule around the beginning of 2011!
