I know, Bob, but I’m just suggesting not just to you but to all commenters here that we’re trying to encourage frank, adult conversation. There are a lot of more suitable fora for calling individuals henchmen and puppets.

Sites like Heraldo and the Humboldt Mirror encourage and thrive on that sort of thing. Please direct the snark to those venues.

Further, it’s one thing to revile candidates, but there’s no justification for calling non-elected officials who take their direction from the elected leaders those sorts of names, especially without any citations to support the name-calling.

Kev, I wouldn’t want to use up so much space by citing all of the parallel comments the two men have made publicly, socially or in their actions. Your insightful reporting on the candidates is well done, including allowing them to make inaccurate and false statements under the color of opinion. No beef with you Kev.

Bob, that last shot is unsupported by any facts and kind of childish in its rhetoric. I you’re going to make blog-like attacks on individuals, you should at least offer some supporting information.

Mark Wheetley is one of the slickest talking politicos in this town. Sounds more like a Republican than a Democrat, to be sure. His stand on Prop 19 is typical, as well as his attack on the North Coast Resource Center. Hey Mark, get informed instead of making ludicrous statements that continue to spread inaccurate and/or incomplete information. Oh, wait! We forget, you ARE one of Larry Oetker’s henchmen,…or would that be puppet?

Prop. 19 doesn’t make a lot of sense. At least from an economic standpoint. I’ve seen people claim it will bring in billions but real hard analysis shows it would be less than $500 million to the State of California at best. People can grow pot easily and sell/share with friends and won’t pay taxes. That’s what will really happen.

People should check out the analysis that I read that shows Prop. 19′s claims of billions is just crazy…
