Raid Nets Dope, Rifle And Cash – October 27, 2010

WESTWOOD – On Wednesday, Oct. 27 at about 7 a.m., officers from the Arcata Police Department along with assistance from the Humboldt County Drug Task Force conducted a search warrant in the 1300 block of Stromberg Avenue.
Inside the residence, officers located over 800 marijuana plants in various stages of growth, over 70 pounds of processed marjiuana in various stages of drying, psilocybin mushrooms, one high-powered rifle and nearly $5,000 in cash.
City building officials responded to the scene due to the unpermitted modifications and hazardous conditions in the electrical wiring. The electric meter was removed until the home’s electrical wiring is in compliance with building codes.
Andrew Kellogg, age 24, of Arcata, was arrested at the residence without incident. He was transported and booked into the Humboldt County Jail on charges of H&S 11358, Cultivation of Marijuana; H&S 11359, Possession for Sale of Marijuana; H&S 11366.5, Maintaining a Residence for Manufacturing of Controlled Substance; H&S 11377(a),Possession of a Controlled Substance.
