Andrew I just happened upon this post today, six months after you wrote it. I wrote this article taking information directly from my partner Carl's experience. I also had him proof read it for accuracy before I submitted it. It is completely possible that the mother of the 19 year old who called was confused about how many times her son had been deployed. If you were the anxious mother who was losing sleep because you you feared your son was going to blow his own brains out in the next room, you might be surprised how easy it is to get a fact or two wrong. Having personal experience of suicide in my own family, I can tell you that the family of the victim NEVER recovers. I pray that you never have to experience that reality in your own life, and that your nephew finishes his enlistment safely and sanely.

Explain to me, in detail, why I should believe a 19 year old could be deployed to Iraq for the third time? This individual must have enlisted as soon as eligible, completed basic and advanced basic, and then had the shortest two terms in Iraq on record. Or, or,this article is maybe
not all that beleivable. Oh sure, tell me about its "emotional truth".
Just don't try to persuade me its factual. And yes, I was in the service. And my nephew is USMC. And for the record, tho I live in Arcata, I generally despise it.
