Disaster Camps Continue – July 13, 2011

11TH & G – “Disaster Camp” is an all-family, summer education program put on by the Arcata Presbyterian Church. Humboldt County is vulnerable to earthquakes, tsunamis, high winds and floods.

Disaster Camp will focus on developing Disaster Buddies, Disaster Bags, Disaster Plans, and Disaster Safety. Disaster Camp will be about simple, practical things we all can do. Preparing for a disaster involves connecting with other people to make a network of friends and neighbors to count on.

• Wednesday, July 13: disaster kits and plans.

• Wednesday, July 27: home safety.

These events will start at 6 p.m. and end at 8 p.m. Activities for children will be available. Light meals will be served. Donations will be accepted.

July 30, Saturday, will start with a pancake breakfast and discuss first aid.
