The issue is whether or not we value each person in spite of various issues regarding lifestyle choices. Things function better when everyone is trying to help or contribute somehow. Folks need food, shelter, and a means of belonging to the community they live in. The city of Arcata doesn't want the young transients in town. If the kids all had money I'd bet they would be welcome!

It is deeply sad, I dream that the agency will rally, There are significant changes needed and this could be a fresh start for the agency and community under new leadership. I believe that the NCRC should continue being a food pantry serving the needs of the poor in Arcata. There are people who want to support the agency which have felt the need to wait till the culture that existed before was changed. Maybe this transition will be good. I wish Shelter the best in his transition.
