Arcata Hikers Rescued In Trinidad – March 14, 2012

TRINIDAD – HCSO Press Release

On Tuesday, March 13, approximately 8 p.m. the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office received a cell phone call Laurel Rains, 20, from Arcata, who was one of four hikers who said they were lost in the woods near Trinidad. The hikers had been trying to hike to Wedding Strawberry Rock and became lost.

Two Humboldt County Sheriff Search and Rescue Deputies were called out and responded to the scene. They located the hikers on Green Diamond Property in heavy brush at approximately 10 p.m.

The hikers were all in good health. The hikers were issued misdemeanor citations for trespassing on Green Diamond Property. The  other three hikers were identified as Albert Jasso, 22, of Arcata, Maxime Hullan, 20, from Arcata, and Jesse Herrera, 19, from Fremont, California.

    “hike to Wedding Rock” Strawberry Rock, perhaps? Seems to fit the description, as the hike to Wedding Rock (Patrick’s Point) from Trinidad would unlikely lead to a trespass on Green Diamond property.
