Fortuna Lad Arrested After Some Plaza Punchy-Face – May 14, 2012

DOWNTOWN – On Sunday, May 13 at 1:40 a.m., officers from the Arcata Police Department responded to a physical fight in progress in the 900 block of H Street.
Upon the officers’ arrival, the fight was over and the participants had fled the area. The officers located a 22-year-old male adult injured at the scene. The man had substantial facial injuries as a result of the fight and was transported to Mad River Community Hospital for treatment.
The investigation resulted in the identification of 23-year-old Donny Duane McCoy, of Fortuna, as the perpetrator of the assault.
Later that day, at 4 p.m., officers from the Fortuna Police Department located McCoy at his residence in Fortuna. He was taken into custody without incident.
McCoy was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility for a violation of 245(a)(1) PC, Assault With a Deadly Weapon.
