"nwlfe55" anonymous person, are you saying that all of the worldwide criticisms of the Bioinitiative Report's lack of objectivity and science are all criticisms made by industry shills, some of which are somehow positioned as moles in government health and safety organizations?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bioinitiative_Report#Criticism

Yes, there are scientifically-sound studies analyzed by the Bioinitiative Report, but that does not make the report itself scientifically sound.

Again, consider Planck's law. If activists ever manage to find a causal link between cancer and radiation of thousands or millions of times lower energy than visible light, scientists will have to seriously investigate what is wrong with quantum mechanics. If quantum mechanics theories turn out to be horribly flawed as EMF activists would have us believe, people may need to start minding their exposure to visible light, even non-UV.

I am not an engineer, but have been studying and measuring radiofrequency microwave radiation (RF/MR) for over 10 years. When evaluating the effects of RF/MR my understanding is that you consider not only the energy or wattage, but also the frequency and modulation of that frequency, as well as cumulative exposure time. It is true cellular frequencies are low wattage, but it is also true that they are high frequency modulated microwaves that people are exposed to 24/7. Looking at wattage alone does not tell the whole story. In the past it was believed that microwaves only had a biological effect when they induced heating (the thermal effect). Now it has been well documented that there are biological effects at non-thermal levels--below what it takes to actually heat tissue. One such published scientific study of the neurological effects by Ross Adey from Loma Linda, California can be found at bullnyacadmed00125-0115.pdf.

Have you read the BioInitiative Report Summary? The BioInitiative Report is an internationally scientific and public health report on potential health risks of electromagnetic fields and RF/MR. In 2007, the BioInitiative Working Group, an international collaboration of prestigious scientists and public health experts from Columbia University and the University at Albany (New York), University of Washington (Seattle), the Karolinska Institute, Umea University and Orebro University Hospital (Sweden), the European Environmental Agency (Denmark) Medical University of Vienna (Austria) and Zhejiang University School of Medicine, (China) released a 650-page report citing more than 2000 studies that document health effects of EMF's from all sources. Much of the BioInitiative Report content, including updated chapters and new chapters is now published in the journal Pathophysiology (August 2009). It concluded that chronic exposure to EMF is associated in some scientific studies with increased health risks that vary from impaired learning, headaches, mental confusion, skin rashes, tinnitus and disorientation to a variety of cancers, and neurological diseases like ALS and Alzheimer's. Sources of concern may include but are not limited to power lines, cell and cordless phones, cell towers, WI-FI, WiMax and wireless internet. They also concluded that exposure standards should be lowered. Besides the 14 scientists, public health and public policy experts who wrote the report, another dozen outside reviewers have looked at and refined the Report. Of course, industry spokespersons and their organizational fronts have attempted to discount and dismiss this report, the people who wrote it, and the studies they used, but that's just typical industry tactics when their profits are at stake.

Also, The Cellular Telephone Task Force website has a list of three landmark published scientific studies and another (very long) list of governmental organizations that have issued warnings or bans on RF/MR. Other sources of information are "Cellular Telephone Russian Roulette by Robert Kane (who worked for the cellular industry), "Cell Towers: Wireless Convenience or Environmental Hazard" edited by B. Blake Levitt, and "The Body Electric" and other books by Robert Becker.

Thus far, there are no non-industry tied published scientific reports that prove cell towers to be safe at distances of less than 1500 feet from homes or that prove there are no deleterious biological effects of non-thermal RF/MR on humans. It only makes sense to err on the side of caution.

he American Cancer Society says cell phone towers have no proven ill effects.

Also, this particular tower would use fiberoptic cable, not microwave relay, to retransmit the cell phone signals.
