HSU Business Instructor Dies – September 28, 2012
Dear Friends,
Yesterday we were saddened to learn of the death of Business Instructor Scott Guild. He apparently died of natural causes.
Scott was a longtime instructor in the School of Business. He has taught classes in tax accounting and managerial accounting since 1999.
This is a very difficult loss for our University and, most especially, Scott’s family, friends, students and colleagues. On behalf of our entire community, I would like to express our deepest condolences to all those who were close to Scott. Our thoughts are with them, and we are here to support them however possible.
Colleagues in the School of Business remember Scott as a devoted, challenging, popular, humorous and effective lecturer. They say he was consistently praised by students for having a hands-on style, and for being able to make a difficult area of study easily understandable.
Family members, colleagues and students were being notified throughout the day yesterday. Counseling and other services have been offered, and anyone seeking support may contact the Counseling Center on campus at 826-3236.
Sincerely,
Rollin C. Richmond
President
