ARCATA BALL PARK –  The Eureka Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence welcome you Friday, Sept. 7 to Bat N’ Rouge, the most spectacular sporting event of the season! Join the fun at the Arcata Ball Park at 5 p.m. and be dazzled by a comedic softball celebration benefiting the Arcata Ridge Trail Project, cityofarcata.org/arcata-ridge-trail.

Doors open at 5 p.m. and the game begins at 6:30 p.m. General admission tickets for $20 (available online at eurekasisters.org or Good Relations, People’s Records, HealthSPORT and Arcata Exchange) and grass-seating tickets for $10 are online or at the door! Children 10 and under are free.

The Arcata Ridge Trail

The City of Arcata is creating a four-mile trail running from West End Road to Buttermilk Lane, crossing through the Sunny Brae and Arcata Community Forests.

When complete, the Arcata Ridge Trail will allow hikers, bikers, and equestrians to travel from the north to south of the city limits without leaving scenic redwood forested hillsides.

Once the Annie and Mary Trail is complete, there will be less than a mile between the two trails, making it possible to walk or ride all the way from Blue Lake through Arcata.

About the game

Bat N’ Rouge is a fun-filled softball game which twists traditional softball and adds a dose of glitter and glamour!

Prepare yourself for a wondrous night of Sister magic as we drag local “notables” to face-off (face-on?) against the OUTfielders, our local LGBT and Ally softball team.

The Rutabaga Queens are umpiring the event, and at half-time get a bite to eat and enjoy a performance by the Va Va Voom Burlesque Vixens. As a collaborative effort between the Eureka Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, the City of Arcata and many wonderful community members, Bat N’ Rouge is brought to you with joy. Sisters from around the world will share in the inclusive ritual.

Bring a blanket or lawn chair if you’re getting a “Grass Seat,” bring the kids to play in games in the “kids’ area,” and bring a smile to this unforgettable extravaganza sponsored by Good Relations, Arcata Exchange, Lost Coast Brewery, the Arcata Eye and Lost Coast Communications.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase provided by the RAVEN Project and proceeds go to benefit the program.

Bat N’ Rouge has been planned and implemented across the United States for years–creating awareness and raising funds for many non-profits.
