		<description><![CDATA[In the late 1970&#039;s, my friend Rob Russel was a Senior at HSU, and for his Senior Thesis he produced a Bicycle Trail Plan for Humboldt County. It reliied heavily on unused train track right-of-ways. Little was done. One of  the few things that was accomplished in his plan was the bicycle warning light on the 101 bridge over Mad River. I have ridden my bicycle between Arcata and Eureka many times, both on 101 and Samoa Drive, with traffic constantly speeding by. I always wished that a safer trail was available.]]></description>
