Dell’Arte’s clowns gone fishin’

HSU AND ELSEWHERE – Do you have a fish in your head? What does it look like? Where does it go?

For its 32nd annual touring holiday show, Dell’Arte presents a one-of-a-kind theatrical storytelling spectacle celebrating the mysteries of the imagination. An all-original piece devised by the ensemble, The Fish in My Head is the story of an unpleasant man with a Machine that Makes Sense; his orderly, self-important life is overturned by the sudden appearance of a zany woman and her friend the Fish. Combining circus skills, physical comedy, music and song, The Fish In My Head is a show for all (appropriate for ages 4 and up).

The Fish in My Head tours through Dec. 16. With the goal of making this family entertainment available to both rural and urban communities that rarely see live professional theatre, venues range from large professional theatres to local elementary school cafeterias. Admission is free for most of the performances, thanks to sponsorships by Wildberries Marketplace, Pierson Building Center, Stephany Joy of RE/MAX Humboldt Realty, Moore’s Sleep World, Green Diamond Resource Company & The California Redwood Company, and Ironside Metal Works. The audience is asked to contribute non-perishable food items, which are donated to local food banks.

Free tickets can be picked up at Wildberries Marketplace, Moore’s Sleep World, and Pierson Building Center, or in person at the DAI Box office and will be available at the venues before each performance.

See The Fish in My Head free at the Van Duzer Theatre on Wednesday, Nov. 28 at 7:30 p.m. dellarte.com
