Stolen Arcata Truck Turns Up In Eureka
EPD Press Release
On Monday, Jan. 21, at about 2:10 p.m., a Eureka Police Department patrol officer was conducting a probation search at a troublesome residence (complaints of stolen property and drug activity) located on the 100 block of West Henderson Street, Eureka.
As he was searching a rear bedroom in the residence, the officer heard a knock on the back door. The officer walked to the door and opened it. As he opened the door, he recognized the male subject standing there as David Scott Fournier.
The officer had arrested Fournier on two prior occasions for possession of a stolen vehicle. Fournier was on active CDC parole for receiving/possessing stolen property. He was also currently on formal felony probation for possession of a controlled substance.
Upon further investigation, the officer discovered Fournier had driven to the residence in a small 1984 blue Toyota pickup truck, which was parked along the street just south of the house. A check of the truck’s license plate revealed it had been reported stolen out of Arcata on Dec. 17, 2012.
Fournier claimed he bought the truck for $250. The officer noted the truck’s steering column had been dismantled, exposing the wires to the ignition.
