Burglary Leads To Footprints Lead To Van, Loot, Suspects, Pot And Meth

On Thursday, Feb. 7 at approximately 9 a.m., officers of the Arcata Police Department were dispatched to investigate a residential burglary in the 300 block of H Street.

The resident informed officers that a workshop on his property had been broken into and various tools had been stolen during an unknown time frame.  While investigating, officers followed footprints leading from the workshop to a wooded area behind the residence.  Two suspects were located loading the stolen tools into a waiting vehicle.

Approximately three pounds of marijuana and a usable amount of methamphetamine were also located in the vehicle.

Thirty-one-year-old Waylon Flannery of Arcata was arrested for possession of stolen property, and 37-year-old Carolyn Nelson of Arcata was arrested for possession of marijuana and methamphetamine. Both suspects were booked into the Humboldt County Jail.

The stolen property was returned to the victim.
