FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MISSING MAN’S BODY FOUND ON SAMOA BEACH

On Wednesday, Feb. 13, the Arcata Police Department was notified the Humboldt County Coroner’s Office had positively identified the body of the man found on a Samoa Beach Sunday as 32-year-old Jason Lovell.

Lovell was reported missing on January 29, 2013. He was last seen on the evening of Jan. 25 in Arcata and family and friends became concerned when he failed to show up for work. Lovell’s vehicle had been found abandoned in the 1200 block of F Street.

At the conclusion of an autopsy on Wednesday, the Humboldt County Coroner’s Office determined Lovell’s cause of death as salt water drowning
