I started at the Museum at age 16 and worked there for seven years through college. With the Museum I learned incredible work ethic, communication and planning skills, how to work retail, create museum displays, design and teach education programs, fundraising skills, animal care, and more. It also inspired me to choose a natural science degree that changed my life and stills continues to inspire me to learn and educate others.
My time and experience at the Museum opened up amazing teaching and docent opportunities at other science museums. It's a pity that this wonderful resource has long been underfunded and undervalued as it served students and teachers at HSU as well as local schools, and the community abroad and will no longer be given the space, time, and money it greatly deserves to carry out the Museum's original mission.
