FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

POLICE INCREASE 420 ENFORCEMENT

The Arcata Police Dept. will once again be partnering with other local agencies on Saturday, April 20 to increase enforcement in and around Redwood Park.

In the past, Redwood Park, the Community Forest and surrounding neighborhoods have been negatively impacted by the gathering that occurs on April 20.

“We have continued to increase enforcement efforts in and around Redwood Park as April 20 approaches,” said Arcata Police Chief Tom Chapman. “As we have done for the past few years, we will be strictly enforcing the Arcata Municipal Code’s restricitons on smoking and drinking alcohol in Redwood Park and the adjacent community forest through the entire week.”

Redwood Park and the Arcata Community Forest are beautiful family friendly resources available to all community members. The Arcata Police Department and the City of Arcata encourage people to use Redwood Park and the Community Forest in a responsible and respectful manner.
Note: This week’s Arcata Eye print edition features a more detailed story on 4/20. – Ed.
