Get ready for a fun night of drag softball with a comedic twist! Bat N' Rouge - softball with a twist, will happen at the Arcata Ball Park (Crabs Field) on Friday, Sept. 10, 2010 beginning at 6:30 p.m. This charity softball game will benefit the Arcata Ridge Trail Project and is a collaborative effort between the Eureka Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, Queer Humboldt, Babe's One For The Road senior softball team and many community members. Every weekend there are nature walks and volunteer restoration workdays where you can sample the variegated microclimes around here... we have forest, wetlands, sandy dunes, riparian areas... Just sayin'... - GET BIRDY AT SHAY Assist Audubon’s Rob Fowler on his weekly ebird site survey at Shay Park in Arcata on Saturday, Sept. 4. Meet 8 a.m. at Shay Park parking lot at east end of Foster Avenue. Expect to survey about 90 minutes, depending on how “birdy” it is.
