250 Pound Pot Shipment Intercepted, Motel Lodger Arrested

WASHINGTON RESIDENT ARRESTED FOR TRANSPORTING OVER 250 POUNDS OF MARIJUANA
On Tuesday, Sept. 10 at about 3:30 a.m., officers with the Arcata Police Department were conducting routine patrol in the Valley West section of the city.
While patrolling the parking lot of Motel 6 (4755 Valley West Blvd.), officers noticed the strong odor of marijuana emanating from a parked vehicle.
The responsible party for the vehicle, Washington resident Anthony Joseph Andrade (age 26) was contacted at his motel room.
Nineteen large garbage bags containing over 250 pounds of marijuana in different states of processing, was located in the bed of the pickup truck.
During the subsequent investigation, it was found that the marijuana had originated in Washington and was being transported to Los Angeles County.
Andrade was transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where he was booked for H&S 11360 – Transportation of Marijuana.
